GLENN T. SMITH – Guitarist, Producer, Artist
Contemporary Jazz / EDM / R&B
While watching Dick Clark’s American Bandstand one Saturday morning, Glenn T. Smith saw the Rolling Stones perform “I CAN’T GET NO SATISFACTION“. He was 12 years old, and he became hooked on the guitar sound. And from there, he begged his mother to buy him a guitar and he’s been playing ever since receiving that Christmas gift.
Glenn studied Wes Mongomery and David T. Walker as a framework to develop his guitar skills. While attending San Francisco State University, his friend Jerry Southern who was a virtuoso piano player, formed their first band with other friends – The San Francisco TradeWinds. After performing for 2 years together at nightclubs, they won a talent show contest, of which the first prize was a 2-year tour to Hawaii and Japan.
While performing in Hawaii he met Maurice White (Founder and Leader of Earth, Wind & Fire) which was a significant milestone in his musical journey. A year after returning to the States, he formed another band with Jerry and the drummer from San Francisco Trade Winds named Cool Steel.
After serval years of performing, he decided to go back to SF State to get his degree in Music Production and Artist Management.
